The Fifth Minnesota National Print Biennial
The Fifth Minnesota National Print Biennial showcases the vitality and evolving nature of printmaking today. Organized by the University of Minnesota’s Department of Art and the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, this national juried exhibition provides a forum for thinking about printmaking today. The Fifth Minnesota National Print Biennial is on display at the Katherine E. Nash gallery from October 10 through November 9, 2006. A public reception and awards ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, October 13, from 6-8:30 p.m. All events at the Nash are free and open to the general public.
Gallery hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Directed by Jerry Krepps, associate professor in the Department of Art’s printmaking area, The Biennial received submissions from 374 artists representing 46 states and Canada. Ninety works by 77 artists have been selected for the exhibition.
The curators for the exhibition are Ken Bloom Director of the Tweed Museum of Art, University of Minnesota, Duluth; John Buck, sculptor/print artist, recipient of major commissions and NEA Grants; and Barbara Yoshida, artist who has had numerous exhibitions throughout the U.S. and internationally with work in various public collections and critical reviews of work by important art critics.
