The presentation of the “Obra Gráfica del Maestro Rufino Tamayo” is a part of the various events which make up the Mosaic Festival which, year by year, takes place in the city of Minneapolis. This exhibit is, as well, part of the cultural program that the Consulate of Mexico is organizing in light of the celebrations for the Bicentennial of the Mexican Independence and the Centennial of the Mexican Revolution.

The Consul of Mexico Ana Luisa Fajer commented, “It is an honor to be able to present to the public of Minnesota the works of an artist who signifies so much for the contemporary culture of Mexico… this is an example of the rich cultural heritage of our country.”

Bohemian Revolution: A Juried Student Print Show is juried by Professor Ruthann Godollei of Macalester College. It was coordinated by U o M Assistant Professor Jenny Schmid and the bohemian press.

Bohemian Revolution is an exhibit created by University of Minnesota students in the printmaking area and reflects the recent dynamic activity of the student print club, bohemian press.  This group has established an exciting community and has actively been making, exhibiting, and selling work, publishing catalogs and assisting in the publication of prints by visiting artists.

Bohemian Revolution features works that are revolutionary both in subject matter and form. Some imagery considers the war, bike power or other subversive content, while other pieces include video or work three-dimensionally to challenge assumptions about definitions of printmaking.  Overall, the exhibit reflects the voice of the next generation of printmakers and their willingness to push the boundaries and speak their minds.
